Tasting Notes

90-92
Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Jan 14
Dark red berries, plums, spices, licorice and mint jump from the 2012 Morey-St. Denis Clos Solon. Deep, rich and beautifully layered in the glass, the Clos Solon is a great introduction to the vintage at Fourrier. The 2012 is silky, powerful and absolutely impeccable from start to finish. Beams of minerality give the finish energy, tension and bracing salinity.

Morey-Saint-Denis Fine Wine

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
